Casper Chamber Music Society Presents The Mendelssohn Trio
The Casper Chamber Music Society is proud to present The Mendelssohn Trio on Sunday afternoon, at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church.
“Time to celebrate spring next Sunday, 4 at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, with the final concert of the CCMS 2025-2026 season, featuring Colorado State University’s Mendelssohn Trio,” the event page states. “The Trio is performing a program of works by all women composers, including Felix Mendelssohn’s sister, Fanny Mendelssohn, that they will take on tour to Europe later this year. Also to be featured are works by Amy Beach, Lera Auerbach, and contemporary Pulitzer prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon. The trio was founded by cellist Barbara Thiem (a descendant of the Mendelssohn family after whom the trio is named) who previously served as a music professor at the University of Wyoming, and also includes CSU instructors Erik Peterson on violin, and Bryan Wallick on piano. Higdon recently served as an Eminent Artist-in-Residence at the University of Wyoming. Look in the comments for a link to hear this wonderful group, and make sure to join us next week to hear some incredible music making. See you there!”
