THANKS TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS
CASPER, Wyo. — The Natrona County Public Library will host a community pizza party on April 23 to celebrate a $10,000 literacy grant from the Pizza Hut Foundation.
The event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. at the library, 307 E. 2nd St. The local Pizza Hut restaurants and Pepsi will provide free pizza, beverages and desserts.
The Pizza Hut Foundation awarded the Slice of Literacy Grant to recognize the library’s work in promoting reading and education. The grant program supports nonprofits located within 15 miles of a Pizza Hut restaurant.
“This grant is our way of saying thank you for being a champion of literacy,” said Jeremy Chambers, area manager for Pizza Hut in Casper.
The library plans to use the $10,000 to expand its literacy programs. Lisa Scroggins, executive director of the Natrona County Public Library, said the funds will help the organization reach more residents and spark a lifelong love of reading.
The grant program is part of the foundation’s partnership with the BOOK IT! reading program, which has operated for 40 years.
