Limited parking capacity at the Sunport as Balloon Fiesta ends

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Albuquerque International Sunport said all three on-site parking areas have reached capacity and limited parking will likely continue through Monday.

The Albuquerque International Sunport said Saturday evening the Basic Economy Lot, Premium Economy Lot and Parking Structure were all at capacity.

The airport said heavy parking demand and limited availability will continue through Monday, Oct. 12.

The Sunport said high outbound passenger volume is not typical during Balloon Fiesta, which usually brings more inbound visitors, but local residents may be using the long holiday weekend for fall travel.

The airport urged travelers to use off-site parking or other transportation options and to arrive well before their flight for parking, shuttles and terminal travel.

The Sunport also asked people picking up family or friends to use the Cell Phone Waiting Lot or the aircraft observation area off Girard Boulevard.

The airport said parking availability should begin to improve Tuesday, Oct. 13.
