Meeting of Secretaries of OTS Security Councils

AKIPRESS.COM – The 5th meeting of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on September 16-18, the OTS press service reported.

The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Security Council of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov, Deputy Chairperson of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Aida Balaeva, Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Adilet Orozbekov, Secretary General of the National Security Council of Türkiye Okay Memiş, Secretary of the Security Council of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov, Undersecretary of the Prime Ministry of Northern Cyprus Mehmet Ağa, as well as OTS Secretary-General Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

The parties discussed the existing security environment and emerging developments in the OTS region and the world. They considered the current security threats and challenges targeting the OTS countries, as well as potential ramifications of certain regional and global situations and trends to the Turkic region.

The sides also exchanged views on the impact of the events taking place in the Middle East on the security and stability of the OTS member states, as well as the development of national capabilities of the OTS countries in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure their national security.

The heads of Security Councils paid special emphasis on strengthening the mechanisms within the framework of the Organization to enhance the existing security cooperation with concrete projects and programs.

The Secretaries of the Security Councils and the OTS Secretary General were received by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Secretary of the Security Council of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov expressed his appreciation to Kubanychbek Omuraliev on behalf of OTS Secretaries of the Security Councils for his valuable contribution to the strengthening of cooperation among the Secretaries of the Security Council of the Turkic States.
