Authorities to investigate how state school textbooks ended up in markets

AKIPRESS.COM – An investigation is underway into reports that textbooks, supposed to be provided to state school students free of charge, are being sold in markets, Presidential Press Secretary Askat Alagozov said.

According to him, the investigation aims to determine how many textbooks were printed, who received them, where they were distributed, how many reached each school, and how books intended for schools ended up being sold.

“There must be clear answers to every question. Everything will be verified against documentation, and those responsible will certainly be held accountable,” Alagozov said.

He stated that the top priority right now is ensuring children have textbooks.

Once the investigation is complete, the Cabinet of Ministers is expected to evaluate the actions of the officials involved and make appropriate decisions.

“No student should be left without a textbook. No parent should have to search markets for a textbook that the state is obligated to provide. The issue of funding shortages has been resolved,” the presidential press secretary said.
