HAVANA TIMES – Michigan has become a political battleground, drawing visits from President Donald Trump, Barack Obama, and Bernie Sanders over the same weekend as both parties fight for control of the U.S. Senate. Much of the attention is on Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed, a 41-year-old former epidemiologist who, if elected, would become the first Muslim to serve in this position.
Recorded live in Holland, Michigan, Jorge and Paola sit down with El-Sayed to discuss the importance of the Latino vote in a state where Latinos make up 6% of the population, his plans to abolish ICE and strengthen border security, his views on intervention in Cuba, Venezuela, and Iran, and why he doesn’t want to shy away from politically unpopular positions, such as Medicare for All.
