State Track and Field Meet Day #1

The State High School Track and Field meet began in Casper on Thursday afternoon with favorable weather conditions. More than a few class records were broken on Day 1, along with some overall records. In 4A boys, Kavin Hoff of Natrona set the overall record in the pole vault, going 16 feet 1 inch. Star Valley’s Jase Burton broke the overall record in the 3200 meters with a blistering time of 9.16.08. Payson Hollingsworth of Douglas set the 3A record in the long jump with a leap of 23-4, and Cole Rogers of Kemmerer set the 2A record in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.52.

On the girls’ side, Adelyn Anderson of Lander set the overall state record in the shot put with a toss of 49-7.75. Kemmerer’s Laynee Walker broke the 2A mark in the pole vault at 11-2, and Lyla Marney of Big Horn set the 2A record in the 3200 with a clocking of 11.22.75.
