Franklin Arias singled home automatic runner Nelly Taylor in the 10th inning, and the Portland Sea Dogs snapped a three-game losing streak with a 13-12 win Friday night over the Reading Fightin Phils in an Eastern League game in Reading, Pennsylvania.
The Sea Dogs rallied from an 8-3 deficit and took an 11-9 lead when Miguel Bleis hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning. Portland added a run in the ninth and was one out away from victory with nobody on base in the bottom of the ninth, but Reading put two runners on before Erick Brito tied the game with a home run.
The home run by Bleis was Portland’s third of the night. He was 4 for 6 with two doubles, five RBI and four runs scored.
Johanfran Garcia and Will Turner also homered for the Sea Dogs. Garcia had three hits and three RBI.
Reading belted three home runs while scoring five runs in the third inning and three in the fourth. The Sea Dogs, though, scored in every inning from the fourth through the ninth as they snapped a three-game losing streak.
Cooper Adams was credited with the victory despite allowing the tying home run in the ninth. Patrick Halligan retired all three batters he faced for his third save.
