They’re set to address a plan for an indoor soccer facility and a proposed shopping area.
RIO RANCHO, N.M. — During Thursday’s Rio Rancho Governing Body meeting, councilors are set to take up several items that could impact both shopping and recreation.
One of those items involves plans for an indoor soccer facility. That would involve land on 29th Street. It is currently zoned for neighborhood commercial but Rio Rancho is considering a change that to special use zoning so it will stay “consistent with surrounding character of the community.”
Rio Rancho is also looking at approving a site for new retail shops and restaurants. That would be on Trevor Way between Unser and Westside. It’s an area they’ll call “The Village.”
Thursday’s meeting starts at 6 p.m. It will also be live streamed online.
