Bernalillo County celebrates south valley construction project
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Bernalillo County has finished a major South Valley road project that widened Rio Bravo from four to six lanes.
County leaders marked the project completion Thursday along Rio Bravo and Second Street in the South Valley.
Road crews widened Rio Bravo from four to six lanes to help make commutes smoother in that area.
Crews also rebuilt the railroad tracks at Second Street to make them quieter when trains pass through. The next phase will update the Rio Bravo bridge crossing to match the new six-lane road.
