Residents give feedback on new Rail Trail phase connecting Old Town

Albuquerque residents weighed in on updated Rail Trail plans that would link Old Town, the BioPark and the Bosque in a planned 7-mile loop.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque residents weighed in on updated Rail Trail plans that would link Old Town, the BioPark and the Bosque in a planned 7-mile loop.

The city showed new concepts for the next phase of the trail and asked people to place stickers on the features they liked. That next phase would connect Old Town, the BioPark and the Bosque.

Some neighbors oppose putting the trail through a vacant lot in Old Town. Many people showed up with signs saying “SAVE” Old Town from the Rail Trail.

The public feedback came as the city continued planning the next phase of the Rail Trail.
