University of Belgrade among the top 1.9% of universities worldwideSerbian Monitor

The Rector of the University of Belgrade, Vladan Đokić, announced today that the university is ranked among the top 1.9% of universities worldwide, according to the Global 2000 ranking published by the Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR).

According to the statement, the world’s largest academic ranking placed the University of Belgrade in a high 393rd position out of 21,291 universities worldwide.

“The Global 2000 list published by the Centre for World University Rankings is based on an analysis of more than 80 million data points, and the University of Belgrade received outstanding scores across all criteria. The key factors used in the ranking were quality of education, alumni employability, faculty quality, and research performance,” Đokić stated.

He added that the centre conducting the ranking uses exclusively objective indicators, without relying on surveys or data submitted by the universities themselves.

“In a year that was particularly challenging due to social circumstances and the economic and political crisis, the University of Belgrade has demonstrated that it is a relevant institution of higher education and scientific research. This is a collective achievement of our lecturers, researchers, associates, and alumni, whose work and accomplishments have enabled the University of Belgrade to remain among the world’s leading educational institutions for the ninth consecutive year. Some of our current and future students will help us ensure that this success continues in the years ahead,” Đokić said in the statement.
