University finds no misconduct in Korea studies scholar’s fabricated citations

The inclusion of six fabricated citations in an academic article by award-winning Korean studies scholar Aram Hur earlier this year did not constitute research misconduct, according to a statement from her university to NK News.

A Tufts University investigation into the nonexistent citations determined the article written by Hur, who holds the Kim Koo Chair in Korean Studies at the college’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, “did not constitute research misconduct,” executive director of media relations Patrick Collins said by email on Aug. 29.
