Seoul rejects nuclear sharing as North Korea threat fuels opposition pressure

South Korea is not considering deploying U.S. tactical nuclear weapons, developing its own nuclear weapons or pursuing nuclear sharing with Washington, rejecting calls from the opposition People Power Party (PPP) for similar measures to counter North Korea’s “provocations.”

Vice Defense Minister Lee Doo-hee made the remarks during a parliamentary questioning session in response to a question from opposition Democratic Party lawmaker Park Sun-won on Thursday

Lee stood in for Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back, who is currently in Croatia to finalize a deal with the European nation to export 18 South Korean Chunmoo rocket launchers.
