Kyrgyz wrestler Bekzat Almaz uulu wins gold at tournament in Turkey

AKIPRESS.COM – Kyrgyzstan’s Bekzat Almaz uulu has won a gold medal at an international freestyle wrestling tournament in Turkey.

The Hasan Gemici & Gazanfer Bilge tournament began on July 31 in the city of Kocaeli, with Almaz uulu competing in the 57 kg weight category.  

The Kyrgyz wrestler entered the competition at the round of 16 stage and secured three consecutive victories over opponents from Uzbekistan and Turkey to reach the final.  

In the gold medal bout, Almaz uulu faced Iranian wrestler Yahya Pursangtashani Ali Mohammad.  

After six minutes of a hard-fought match, the Kyrgyz athlete claimed victory with a score of 12–11 to take home the gold medal.
