Informal meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of Organization of Turkic States takes place in New York
AKIPRESS.COM – An informal meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in the format of a working breakfast took place in New York on September 25, 2026.
The meeting brought together the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and heads of delegations of the OTS member states and observers, as well as OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev.
The participants exchanged views on the preparations for the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, to be held in Ankara, Türkiye. The Ministers discussed the priorities and key issues to be addressed at the Summit and emphasized the importance of ensuring a successful outcome of the upcoming high-level gathering.
The meeting also addressed the application of the Organization of Turkic States for observer status at the United Nations General Assembly. The Ministers further exchanged views on international and regional matters of mutual concern and discussed opportunities for further strengthening coordination and solidarity among the OTS member states and observers.
At the end of the meeting, the Ministers adopted a Joint Statement on the issues discussed and reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening cooperation and coordination within the Organization of Turkic States.
