Jamaican shooter Neesa DaCosta has achieved a historic milestone, finishing the academic year as the fourth-ranked collegiate lady skeet shooter in the United States while competing for Jacksonville University in Florida.
Remarkably, less than one point separated her from third place, making this arguably the highest collegiate ranking ever achieved by a Jamaican female shooter.
DaCosta’s success extends far beyond the shooting range.
Since earning a full scholarship to Jacksonville University in 2020, she completed a double major in Business Management and Marketing before graduating this year with a Master of Business Administration.
Along the way, she was recognized as a Distinguished Graduate Business Scholar and one of the university’s top 25 business students.
A standout athlete, leader, coach, and mentor, DaCosta served as Board Secretary, Chief of Staff, Graduate Assistant, and later Assistant Coach for the university’s shooting team.
Her 2025 season included multiple championship performances, highlighted by a rare triple-crown victory at the Florida State Championships, where she captured collegiate ladies’ titles in Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays.
Her achievements also earned her selection to the prestigious National Skeet Shooting Association All-American Team.
