GTA vacancy: Human Resource Manager

The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and strategic Human Resource Manager to provide leadership across all areas of human resources, drive organisational effectiveness, and support the successful delivery of our corporate goals and priorities.

Position Summary: Human Resource Manager

Contract Type: Permanent after probation

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Employee Engagement and Retention

  • Partner closely with the leadership team to drive a people-centred culture focused on employee engagement, retention, succession planning, empowerment, performance excellence, and organisational sustainability
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to identify current and future staffing needs, competency gaps, and succession planning opportunities to ensure organisational continuity and growth
  • Provide professional guidance and support to employees and managers on performance management, employee relations, workplace concerns, conflict resolution, wellness, and professional development matters
  • Lead and manage the full talent acquisition and onboarding process, including workforce planning, recruitment, interviewing, selection, and integration of high-performing talent, while ensuring alignment with the GTA’s culture and strategic priorities
  • Champion employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives by analysing employee feedback, recommending strategic improvements, and fostering a positive, inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment

2. Policy Development

  • Lead the development, implementation, review, and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and systems to ensure organisational effectiveness, consistency, accountability, and compliance with applicable laws and best practices
  • Develop and execute strategic human resource goals, initiatives, and operational plans that align with the GTA’s vision, organisational transformation agenda, and long-term workforce objectives
  • Lead and support disciplinary, grievance, and mediation processes with professionalism, empathy, confidentiality, fairness, and adherence to organisational policies and legal requirement

3. Compensation Management

  • Conduct compensation and benefits analyses and recommend competitive and equitable reward strategies that support employee attraction, motivation, retention, and overall wellbeing

4. IT Management and Innovation

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of human resource trends, emerging workplace practices, labour legislation, and HR technologies to support continuous improvement and innovation within the organisation
  • Develop and maintain accurate HR records, reports, workforce analytics, and confidential employee information systems to support informed decision-making and organisational planning

5. Strategic Human Resource Planning

  • Identify organisational and individual training and development needs and lead the implementation of learning initiatives that build leadership capacity, technical competencies, employee confidence, and future organisational readiness
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, inclusion, innovation, and employee empowerment that strengthens morale, productivity, and organisational effectiveness

6. Performance Management

  • Design, implement, and manage a robust performance management framework that promotes accountability, continuous feedback, professional growth, employee recognition, and high performance across the organisation

7. Statutory Obligations

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with labour laws, employment regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and HR best practices while mitigating organisational risk

Position Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, Organisational Psychology, or a related discipline would be an asset
  • Professional HR certification, such as SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, CIPD, or equivalent, would be an advantage
  • Between 5 to 7 years’ progressive experience in Human Resource Management, including at least 3 years in a senior or managerial HR role
