Konstantina Vezou has been recognised at the 2025 Premier’s VCE Awards after achieving the highest result in VCE Greek in Victoria.
The St John’s College student’s achievement comes after years of study and preparation and highlights the continued role of Greek language education in Victoria.
Reflecting on receiving the award, Vezou said she was grateful to the teachers and family members who supported her throughout her studies.
“I feel incredibly honoured to receive this award. It represents years of hard work, but I certainly didn’t achieve it alone,” she said in a media release.
“I am deeply grateful to my teachers for their encouragement, guidance and belief in me throughout my studies, and to my family for their constant support and motivation. They inspired me to keep striving to be my best.”
The Premier’s VCE Awards are among Victoria’s highest academic honours, recognising students who achieve outstanding results in their VCE studies.
Vezou’s result also highlights the role of Greek language programs in providing students with opportunities to continue studying the language at senior secondary level.
St John’s College has placed Greek language education within its broader focus on Hellenism, with students studying the language alongside their connection to Greek heritage and culture.
Kristian Raspa, Director of Hellenism at St John’s College, said Vezou’s result reflected years of commitment to her studies.

“Konstantina’s achievement demonstrates that when high expectations are matched with strong support, extraordinary outcomes are possible.”
The College’s VCE Greek program combines academic expectations with support for students studying the language, with Vezou’s achievement demonstrating the academic outcomes possible through continued study of Greek.
Her recognition also comes as community language education continues to face challenges in maintaining participation and encouraging younger generations to continue learning heritage languages.
For St John’s College, Vezou’s result reinforces its commitment to Greek language education and the role it plays in maintaining the language and cultural heritage of Hellenism in Australia.
The College congratulated Vezou on her achievement and wished her well in her future studies and career.
