Greek Australian tennis player Andriana Petrakis has returned from the European Summer Games in Poland with two medals after a strong all-round performance representing Australia.

Competing in Bydgoszcz, Petrakis claimed the silver medal in the women’s doubles alongside Kelly Wren and added a bronze medal in the team event, also with Wren.

She also finished fifth overall in the singles competition and placed fourth in the mixed doubles, capping off a successful tournament across all four events.

Petrakis said the results reflected the hard work and commitment she had invested in her tennis.

“I had an amazing time in Poland and I’m grateful with better results coming from my competitive spirit, positive strong heart, true grit, intense determination, highly disciplined with consistency as well as bravery commitment to the wonderful sport of tennis,” she said.

“Overall, we did a fantastic job as a team and there will be some room of improvement for next time.”

The European Summer Games brought together athletes from across Europe and beyond, with Petrakis competing against an international field while representing Australia.

Her medal-winning performances add to an impressive tournament, highlighting both her individual ability and her success in doubles and team competition.

Petrakis has also encouraged community organisations to share news of her achievements through newsletters, websites and social media, saying she was pleased for the wider community to celebrate the results.
