The Phnom Penh Administration will temporarily divert traffic along several roads around the Independence Monument on November 9 to facilitate celebrations marking the 73rd anniversary of Cambodia’s National Independence Day.
The National Committee for Organising National and International Holidays will hold the anniversary ceremony at the Independence Monument, which is located between Daun Penh and Chamkar Mon districts.
To ensure security, public safety and order, and prevent traffic congestion, the authorities will temporarily restrict all types of vehicles along several sections of nearby boulevards and streets.
The affected routes include Norodom Boulevard, from Street 240 to the Independence Monument roundabout, and from the roundabout to Street 294.
The traffic diversions will take effect from 5am until the ceremony concludes.
The Phnom Penh Administration appealed to residents and motorists for their understanding and cooperation, urging them to avoid travelling through the affected areas during the specified period.
Traffic will return to normal once the temporary restrictions are lifted.
