37 Indonesians deported from Cambodia

Authorities deported 37 more Indonesians from Cambodia for illegally staying and working without passports.

The Immigration Police Department of the Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that, following orders from Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Lieutenant General Sok Veasna, Director General of the Immigration Department, instructed the Department of Investigation and Enforcement to cooperate with the Indonesian Embassy in Cambodia to deport 37 Indonesians for illegally staying and working without passports through Techo International Airport.

The deportations comply with Prime Minister Hun Manet’s policy.

In the past, he has clearly stated: “Cambodia will not allow criminals or illegals to use Cambodian territory as a location to carry out fraudulent activities or commit crimes that cause insecurity in the region and the world. The authorities must continue to purge, suppress, and expel without exception to protect national honour and security.”

Under the leadership of Sokha, the police have been working hard to eliminate crimes using technology, investigate and crack down on the perpetrators, and rescue victims who have been deceived to gain freedom and return home safely.
