A major accident in Koh Kong province has left two dead and five seriously injured.

The accident at 3.45pm on Friday occurred in Prek Angunh village, Trapaing Rung commune, Koh Kong district.

A Koh Kong district police officer said a white Hyundai lorry was travelling at high speed around a curve and lost control, smashing into an oncoming Tacoma car.

One person, Po Monica, died at the scene, whilst the Tacoma’s driver, Don Thi Duong, died on the way to a hospital; five others were seriously injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police are now seeking the truck driver, who fled the scene after causing the crash.
