BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Actor RJ Mitte, who played Walter White Jr. on “Breaking Bad” and advocated for disability rights, died at 34 on Monday, according to reports.
The cause of death was not immediately released.
Social media posts revealed Mitte had just recently been in New Mexico during Balloon Fiesta. He was photographed taking a hot air balloon ride with New Mexico United, along with fellow “Breaking Bad” actor Luis Moncada.
In the award-winning “Breaking Bad,” Mitte played Walter White Jr., the teenage son of a high school teacher who starts producing methamphetamine to pay for his cancer bills. The AMC series debuted in January 2008, when he was 15, and gave him his breakout role.
Mitte had cerebral palsy, which “Breaking Bad” also reflected, and he advocated for the rights of people living with disabilities.
His representatives asked for privacy for his family and loved ones.
