Trump may propose Kim summit after APEC, possibly in North Korea: former envoy

President Donald Trump may propose a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un after the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in China, and it “would not be a surprise at all” for him to suggest holding it in Pyongyang, former U.S. Special Representative for the DPRK Stephen Biegun said Thursday.

Speaking at the West Coast Exchange conference hosted by Korea Risk Group in Incheon, Biegun said he does not see diplomatic engagement as likely, but cautioned against ruling it out. 

The remarks by the former special envoy, who played a leading role in U.S.-DPRK diplomacy from 2018 to 2019, follow
