About the scholarship

The Durakshondagon program is financed through a special fund of the President of Tajikistan and supports both academic study and professional training at foreign educational and research institutions.

Scholarship recipients are selected annually by the Republican Commission for the Selection and Training of Specialists for Studies Abroad.

The list of eligible fields of study is approved by Tajikistan’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. The list of programs available under the current competition has not yet been published.

More than 300 scholarships for study abroad were allocated under the presidential program in 2026.

One of the program’s key requirements is that graduates return to Tajikistan after completing their studies and continue working in the country.

The scholarship covers tuition fees, visa costs, medical insurance, dormitory accommodation and travel expenses. Recipients also receive a monthly stipend, which under last year’s terms amounted to $600.
