ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Equip Academy is closing for good after its governing board voted to shut the school down because of low student enrollment.
The New Mexico Public Education Department said the governing board made the decision during its meeting on Monday, Aug. 3.
A spokesperson for the department said Equip Academy notified families about the planned closure on Friday, July 31.
“We understand this is difficult news for the school community. Our immediate priority is supporting students, families, and staff through the transition and ensuring students have access to educational options for the upcoming school year,” a PED spokesperson said.
