ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Bernalillo County Fire Rescue responded to a trash truck load on fire Wednesday morning, but the driver dumped it before flames spread to the truck.
BCFR said firefighters quickly put out the burning trash, and urged people to watch what they throw away after the fire.
The agency said people should never throw out hot ashes or charcoal.
BCFR said people should recycle lithium-ion batteries from phones, tools, toys or vapes at an approved site.
The agency also said people should not throw pool chemicals or paint in the trash.
