The management of the Sarir-Tazerbo-Benghazi system of the Man-Made River (MMR) reported that a power outage occurred this morning, Thursday, 23 July 23, at 6:52 am, affecting the Sarir and Tazerbo wellfields following the shutdown of the first unit at the Sarir gas-fired power plant.

The outage caused 51 wells in the Tazerbo field and 92 wells in the Sarir field to go offline.

However, the MMR said power was restored to both fields at 8:00 am, and technical teams immediately began restarting the wells upon the return of electricity.

The MMR said to protect the pipeline network and maintain water levels in the Ajdabiya reservoir, water supplies to certain cities and areas will be reduced for a period of 24 hours, effective this morning.

The MMR emphasized that this measure is beyond its control and responsibility.
