NDA Partners with 13 Chinese Firms for Magroun Industrial Zone

Speaking at the signing ceremony in Benghazi on Tuesday (21 July) between the National Development Agency (NDA) and 13 Chinese companies for the establishment of the Magroun Industrial Zone, a representative of the Chinese companies said ‘‘Today, from the city of Benghazi, we announce the launch of a new phase of industrial cooperation and investment partnership between China and Libya’’.

The unnamed Chinese company representative said ‘‘Libya is making every effort toward reconstruction, the development of local industries, and reducing reliance on foreign products.

The location of the Magroun Industrial Zone—and its proximity to African markets, ports, and airports—grants it exceptional strategic and investment advantages (for transit trade).

We highly value the significant official support provided by the Libyan Government and the National Development Agency to ensure the success of these projects and to remove all obstacles.

The Industrial Zone will provide comprehensive, dedicated infrastructure, including water, electricity, storage facilities, roads, and fully equipped factory units’’.

The NDA said 1,000-hectare Magroun Industrial Zone project, located an hour and a half south of Benghazi on the coastal road, is to be a regional centre for industry, investment and production.‎ It will be ideally located near Benghazi’s new airport in Tika and near the Elmreisa Free Zone (EFZ).
