The Dehradun district administration has declared a one-day holiday for all educational institutions and Anganwadi centers in the district for Saturday, July 18 2026.
Weather Department Issues Alert
According to the latest updates from the India Meteorological Department (Dehradun) and the National Disaster Alert Portal, there is a likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall and lightning in parts of Dehradun district over the next 24 hours.
An “Orange” alert has been issued due to the forecast of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the region, which poses a risk of untoward incidents.
Which Institutions Will Remain Closed in Dehradun on Saturday, July 18, 2026
In the interest of disaster mitigation and the safety of children, this order applies equally to all government and private institutions in the district.
All Schools (Classes 1 to 12): All government, government-aided, and private schools in the district will remain closed.
Anganwadi Centers: All Anganwadi centers operating within the district will also remain completely closed on Saturday.
