CASPER, Wyo. — Republican Rep. Bill Allemand announced today that he will seek a third term representing House District 58 in the Wyoming House of Representatives. The district includes Midwest, Edgerton, Bar Nunn, Homa Hills, North Casper and Vista West.
Allemand has served in the House since 2023 and currently sits on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Rules Committee. He said he maintains a conservative legislative record focused on lowering property taxes, defending constitutional rights and resisting federal overreach. Allemand said that at least a dozen bills he sponsored or co-sponsored have been signed into Wyoming law during his first two terms.
The incumbent pointed to his advocacy during a controversy over a proposed nuclear-related manufacturing project near Bar Nunn as evidence of his commitment to constituent concerns. While Allemand said he’s personally pro-nuclear, he said his responsibility is to represent residents who had concerns about nuclear waste being stored close to their homes.
Allemand is currently facing a DUI charge in Johnson County after a traffic stop last December. Court records state a blood sample processed by the state crime lab reportedly showed a blood-alcohol level of 0.24%, which is three times the legal limit. Defense attorney Michael Vang has filed motions to suppress evidence, arguing that Allemand was placed in handcuffs without probable cause. Johnson County prosecuting attorney Joshua Stensaas argued the detention was necessary for officer safety because of Allemand’s proximity to a loaded firearm while reportedly impaired.
Allemand is presumed innocent unless found or pleading guilty.
The primary election is Aug. 18. Bar Nunn Mayor Peter Boyer is running for the seat as a Republican. The winner of the race may face Casper native and Democratic candidate Keenan Morgan in the Nov. 3 general election.
Allemand currently holds a 100% lifetime rating with CPAC. He said he will continue fighting for pro-life legislation, Second Amendment protections and parental rights.
