CASPER, Wyo. — Sunday is here, and it’s the perfect day to relax, recharge and reinvigorate so that you’re ready for the upcoming week. It’s also the perfect day to check out a variety of live shows happening throughout the day. From “A Few Good Men” to Three Dog Night, this is what’s happening Sunday in the Oil City.
The Oil City Daily Event Guide is sponsored by Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo.
The Casper Children’s Theatre is putting on “The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition” on Sunday, beginning at 2 p.m.
“Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they ‘Follow the Yellow Brick Road’ through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home,” the event page states. “Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends three unique characters: a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no ‘nerve.’ Their journey to happiness — and self-awareness — is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both beauty and ugliness. This stage adaptation, featuring the characters and celebrated songs from the film, brings the wondrous Land of Oz to life in a jubilant theatrical experience.”
Happening at 2 p.m.
Stage III is presenting its rendition of “A Few Good Men,” happening May 1–17 at the Stage III Community Theatre, located at 900 N. Center St.
“This Broadway hit about the trial of two Marines for complicity in the death of a fellow Marine at Guantanamo Bay sizzles on stage,” the event page states. “The Navy lawyer, a callow young man more interested in softball games than the case, expects a plea bargain and a cover-up of what really happened. Prodded by a female member of his defense team, the lawyer eventually makes a valiant effort to defend his clients and, in so doing, puts the military mentality and the Marine code of honor on trial.”

On Sunday, the Ford Wyoming Center is proud to present Three Dog Night, happening at 7 p.m.
“Iconic American band, THREE DOG NIGHT, now celebrating its 6th decade, boasts some of the most astonishing chart statistics in popular music, with 21 consecutive Billboard Top 40 hits, including 3 #1 singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs,” the event page states. “Created in 1968 by Irish-born Danny Hutton, the group was conceived to feature three strong vocalists who shared leads and also blended together in exquisite three-part harmony, complemented by four ace instrumentalists, creating a self-contained unit. This ultimately became Three Dog Night’s signature sound in the studio and live on the road.”
Happening at 7 p.m.
