Mirziyoyev Proposes Resuming Work of SCO Council of Interior and Public Security Ministers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At a meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed resuming the work of the Council of Interior and Public Security Ministers.

According to him, Tashkent is particularly concerned about the changing nature of terrorism and extremism, the rise of cybercrime, the production and trafficking of synthetic drugs, as well as the strengthening of organized crime.

“For effective counteraction to these threats, it is proposed to resume the work of the Council of Interior and Public Security Ministers, review the Agreement on Cooperation in Combating Crime, and develop a Program to Combat Drug Addiction through 2030,” the president’s press service cited him as saying.
