Bakhtiyor Saidov and Audrey Azoulay Discuss Preparations for the UNESCO General Assembly in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a telephone conversation with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay.

“Together with UNESCO Director-General, Her Excellency Audrey Azoulay, we had a meaningful and productive discussion,” the head of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy department noted on his Telegram channel. “The main focus was on preparations for the upcoming UNESCO General Assembly, which will be held in Samarkand — an ancient city that has played a significant role in the dialogue of civilizations.”

According to the minister, the parties also discussed a wide range of areas of cooperation, emphasizing the need to further intensify joint efforts in culture, education, and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage.
