Two children died Saturday morning in a crash on Interstate 65 in Barren County near Cave City.

Kentucky State Police said that troopers received a call around 7 a.m. regarding a crash near the 53.2-mile marker and learned that a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Aleah Kroger, 35, of Dayton, Ohio, was traveling north on I-65 when the vehicle left the right side of the road and crashed into a tractor-trailer that was parked on the right shoulder.

Two juveniles who were passengers in Kroger’s vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

KSP did not release the names of the juvenile victims.

Kroger was taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow and later transported to The Medical Center in Bowling Green, where KSP said Saturday afternoon that she remained in critical condition.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
