POLICE LOG – October 22, 2026Dover Police Charge Two Men In September Armed Home Invasion
DOVER, Del. — Dover Police have charged two 30-year-old Dover men in connection with an armed home invasion that occurred September 16 in the 100 block of Cherry Street.
Police said detectives identified both suspects during the investigation and obtained warrants for their arrests. One suspect was already being held at Sussex Community Corrections Center on unrelated charges dating back to September 17.
The second suspect was taken into custody October 21 with assistance from Probation and Parole. He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $154,000 cash-only bond.
Both men were charged with second-degree conspiracy, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and theft involving a victim age 62 or older.
The original investigation began after police responded to the Cherry Street residence shortly before midnight September 16. Police said a 15-year-old girl was sitting on a downstairs couch when a masked man entered through an unsecured rear door or window, pointed a handgun at her and demanded money.
The suspect allegedly took an iPad, iPhone, four bottles of medication and a Nintendo Switch charging dock before fleeing. Four family members were asleep upstairs at the time.
The suspects’ names were not released. Dover Police said Delaware House Bill 59, which took effect October 21, limits the release of names and photographs of adults charged with crimes under certain circumstances.
