Construction of the second Baton Rouge location of the Bank of St. Francisville is underway on Jefferson Highway.
Bank of St. Francisville began construction on its third branch at 9029 Jefferson Hwy in December and plans to open by March. It’s other two branches are on Highland Road, near the intersection of Lee Drive, and its main branch in St. Francisville on Commerce Street.
“We’ve had significant growth in Baton Rouge and the market has accepted us well,” said Douglas Dupont, Bank of St. Francisville’s executive vice president and Baton Rouge market president.
The Highland Road branch opened at the end of 2022, when the bank had $198 million in overall deposits at the end of June that year, according to FDIC data. As of June 30, 2025, the bank had about $328 million in deposits across both branches, with about $72 million in Baton Rouge and $256 million in St. Francisville.
Dupont said the bank plans to have about 15 employees working at the Jefferson Highway branch, adding on the company’s overall team of more than 50.
The branch will be about 10,000 square feet, according to Kelly Hurtado, the bank’s vice president of marketing.
The bank purchased 1.7 acres of land for the Jefferson Highway location in 2023 for $2.2 million, shortly after opening the Highland Road branch.
