The third day saw the court hearing testimony from the executive director of the Cyber Tip Line for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The second phase of New Mexico’s trial against social media giant Meta is entering its fourth day Thursday.
As prosecutors are trying to get Meta executives to put stricter child safety measures in place, the court heard testimony Wednesday from the executive director of the Cyber Tip Line for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Fallon McNulty, who said that much of Meta’s reports on sexual violations on its sites were incomplete. She also referenced 11 different cases where a child expressed suicidal ideation in a chat log and Meta failed to escalate the report.
Meta was found liable back in March for failing to adequately protect children on its sites.
