SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon saw three teams with local ties all win at the Sanford Pentagon Monday.
SDSU came back to defeat Merrimack 75-66. The Jacks used an 17-4 run in the second half to turn a four-point deficit into a nine-point lead with two minutes left in the game. Jaden Jackson scored 17 points in the first half and finished with 23. Matthew Mors chipped in 16, and Damon Wilkinson added 10.
Former Jackrabbit head coach Eric Henderson led Drake to a 77-71 win over Northern Arizona. The Bulldogs closed the game on a 23-10 run to pull out the win.
Ryan Miller won his first game as a head coach as Murray State knocked off reigning Summit League champion Omaha 85-77. Miller’s nephew, Mason, scored 12 points and pulled down six rebounds.
