ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – 3,300 fans came to Tingley Coliseum on Friday night to witness BKFC 75. The night was headlined by the middleweight championship between the current champion, David Mundell, and Albuquerque’s Donald Sanchez.
Sanchez was knocked down three times throughout the bout but got up every time. After five two minute rounds, Mundell won by unanimous decision. The judges scored the fight 94-43, 50,42, 94-43.
“We had a great game plan going into the fight, but I wasn’t really able to execute it,” said Sanchez. “I changed up after I got dropped, but he just kept going forward. I couldn’t put him on his back foot. He’s a pound for pound greatest for a reason.”
Mundell said that Sanchez was an extremely tough fighter and he was caught off guard by the timing of his punches.
Sanchez also told KRQE Sports that he does not plan to continue fighting following the conclusion of his contract. He has one fight remaining.
In the co-main event, Jackson Wink Academy’s Murat Kilimetov was matched up against Leo Bercier. Kilimetov won by TKO 1:36 into round 1 and was awarded performance of the night.

In a post-event press conference, BKFC founder/president David Feldman said that the organization will be back in Albuquerque soon. He is also looking to potentially hold an event inside the Pit.
