PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Roger Williams Park Zoo is celebrating the addition of new serval.

Zephyr is a 14-month-old male serval from North Carolina.

He was transferred from the Greensboro Science Center as a “breeding recommendation” for Velma, a female serval at the zoo.

Roger Williams Park Zoo said he is named after Zephyros, the Greek god of the West Wind.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Zephyr to his new home, and are excited for what the future may hold for him and Velma,” the zoo said.
