Retailer Curacao launches program to pay off debt for customers deported during immigration raids

LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Retailer Curacao, with locations across Southern California, is offering a program to pay off customer debt in cases of forced deportation.

The initiative, called “Estamos Contigo,” will cover 100% of a customer’s outstanding account balance if they are detained and deported during the program period, regardless of the amount owed, according to the company.

The program is available through June 30 and requires customers to submit documentation confirming deportation for review. Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis, officials said.

Company representatives said the effort is intended to provide financial protection for families facing uncertainty tied to immigration enforcement and the possibility of sudden separation.

“The program reinforces Curacao’s longstanding commitment to supporting its community not only through retail services, but through meaningful financial assistance,” the company said in a statement.

Curacao, which serves Hispanic communities and operates stores in California, Arizona and Nevada, said eligible families can apply on their website.
