WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — Purdue football has fired defensive coordinator Kevin Kane.
The decision comes after the Boilermakers lost at home to Maryland, 34-29. Maryland had not won a Big Ten game this season prior to Saturday’s victory.
Purdue has allowed 32.3 points per game this season, which is the most by any Big Ten team. It is the third-most by any power conference team, with West Virginia and Stanford being the only power conference teams that have allowed more points per game than Purdue.
Purdue has also allowed the most yards per game in the Big Ten.
The Boilermakers (3-6) play Iowa (7-2) on the road on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
