POLL: Have you signed up to receive emergency alerts if a disaster strikes?

This week’s opinion page features a nudge from Horry County Public Information Office Mikayla Moskov to be prepared for natural disasters by signing up for emergency alerts and notifications. Moskov writes, “As the public information director for Horry County, my duty is to ensure that you, my neighbors and partners across these vast 1,200-plus square miles, have the information you need to make the decisions you must, particularly before, during and after a crisis.” There are multiple ways to sign up and stay in the know, including registering for Code Red alerts and following Horry County Emergency Management on Facebook.
