A Plymouth man accused of drug trafficking was arrested Saturday night.
Jeffrey Roberts, 46, was wanted on a warrant for aggravated drug trafficking out of Cumberland County, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
Roberts was arrested without incident about 8:20 p.m. at a Moosehead Trail residence in Plymouth, the sheriff’s office said Thursday morning.
Roberts reportedly had “violent tendencies” toward the police and had previously escaped from a police cruiser during transportation. To ensure the safety of police and the public deputies used a “strategic response plan” to take him into custody.
He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor, where he remained Thursday morning, according to the jail’s website.
