FARGO — It’s the question that hangs every week over each pet who comes through the KVRR studios for Pet Connection Thursday.
Sooner or later, during the shoot, someone will ask, “Who on earth would ever be willing to give up such a wonderful animal companion?”
And most of the time, the question goes unanswered.
In Waldo’s case, we know… although it doesn’t make the answer any less sad.
Waldo comes to Diamond in the Ruff rescue through a program they launched about a year ago called “Paws for Recovery.”
It’s designed to provide short-term foster care for the weeks and months a pet parent has to spend recuperating from surgeries or illness, so they can reunite when the human is recovered and can come and resume caring for their pet.
Unfortunately, in this case, Waldo’s pet parent didn’t survive the recovery process.
Diamond in the Ruff’s Heather Mitchell and Carrie Knutson say he’s one of the cuddliest, most well-behaved cats they’ve ever met.
He loves to snuggle and be petted, and he gets along well with all kinds of other people and with cats and dogs.
One caveat, though — he should only be placed in homes that have cats who are feline-leukemia positive, as he is.
It is a communicable disease that can have immune system effects, but at two years old and in great physical health, Waldo has plenty of life ahead of him.
So if you think you know the person who can turn his story around and give him the bright future he deserves, check out his adoption information, here:
