AUSTIN (KXAN) — Showers and storms continue to fade this morning with rain expected to clear our area by sunrise.

San Saba River at San Saba rose 7 feet in 6 hours with 6″ of rainfall Thursday night into Friday
Dry weather is expected for the remainder of the day with morning clouds clearing to afternoon sunshine and uncomfortable heat.

Saturday looks similar with early clouds and a lot of sun.
High temperatures will push into the upper 90s for the next several days with elevated humidity.
Beneficial rain chances look to return daily beginning late Sunday through Memorial Day Monday and much of next week.
Memorial Day Weekend forecast
Memorial Day Monday doesn’t look to be a washout, with some periods of dry weather coming too. However, our highest rain chances focus around Monday into Tuesday surrounding the arrival of a cold front, but even beyond that rain chances remain elevated through much of next week.
Rainfall & flood risk
The potential for locally heavy rain begins late Sunday and continues through Monday. Both days carry a low (level 1 out of 4) flash flood risk.
Severe storms may be a possibility late this weekend through next week too, but those finer details will come with time.
More rain chances continue through at least Thursday of next week and possibly further in time.
Rainfall amounts by next Thursday continue to trend higher. More of the area should see at least 1″ of rain (if not more).
