Man killed in Jackson shooting, suspect flees into wooded area

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a man was shot and killed.

The shooting occurred in the 2100 block of Thousand Oaks Drive around 7:30 p.m. on October 23, 2025.

Two injured in four-vehicle crash on Lakeland Drive

Interim Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said the victim was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) for treatment, but he died shortly after arrival.

According to Jones, the suspect(s) fled into a nearby wooded area.
