It might come as a surprise that early 2000s staple Five for Fighting isn’t a five-person band but rather the artistic moniker of one man: singer-songwriter John Ondrasik. Backed by a string quartet, the pianist and soft-rock icon charms listeners at Rutland’s Paramount Theatre — and Stowe’s Spruce Peak Arts on September 26 — with emotionally charged ballads such as “Superman (It’s Not Easy).”
